Meet First 5 Placer's Newest Commissioner! Teresa Crimmens

First 5 Placer

Teresa Crimmens serves as Deputy Executive Director of Sierra Community House (SCH), a non-profit social service agency serving the North Tahoe/Truckee region. Teresa oversees delivery of all programs and services and supports development and implementation of SCH’s strategic plan and vision.

 

Teresa holds a Bachelor of Science in Biology and Environmental Science from Fordham University and a Master of Public Administration from Columbia University School of International and Public Affairs. Teresa began her career at the non-profit Bronx River Alliance as Environmental Coordinator and then Ecology Program Director. In the Lake Tahoe region, Teresa served as Operations Director for the Tahoe Rim Trail Association, Project Coordinator for the Tahoe Resource Conservation District, and, most recently, as Executive Director for the Family Resource Center of Truckee.

 

Teresa has lived in Placer County for 16 years, and has participated in the Child Abuse Prevention Council, Mountain Housing Council, Tahoe-Truckee Reads, and currently serves as Chairperson of the Placer Transient Occupancy Tax Advisory Committee. Through these roles, Teresa has gained experiences and insights about the strengths and needs of young families in our community.
